AC Repair – Maintenance is First Step

A/C repair simply connotes that your air conditioner (AC) had stopped working and needs a repair job. Whether nor not it has some parts that stopped working or malfunctioned, your appliance would still need the repair work to bring it back to its original state to make your house cool (and comfortable) again.

Similar to the other appliances we use that had stopped working to its full capacity (or is inoperable outright), the malfunction could have been avoided earlier had it gone its regular check up and maintenance routine.

Repair

The equipments and appliances that we are using are all subject to wear and tear and other causes like corrosion, material fatigue and many others. There is need, however, to avoid the major repairs which are mostly exacerbated with the owner’s neglect.

With today’s excessive use sometimes, these appliances and equipments have shortened life span than expected. Maintenance can extend that life span if problems had been arrested before they become impossible to restore or repair.

Parts

If defective or worn-out parts had been found in routine checkups, it could have been replaced much earlier without damaging the whole system of the cooling machine.

Another fact that had been forgotten is that in air conditioners small problems are easily detected. For the parts, they could have been cleaned up to work better or maybe repaired in time to work like new.

The action could have avoided the major setback of a breakdown which can unfortunately be heavy in terms of costs. In maintenance, professional service people typically start checking the following parts because they are important to the total running of the cooling machine.

Compressors

The air conditioner’s compressor works by eliminating the heat coming from the outside air. Checking on this part usually reveals its need for oil, dusting or thorough cleaning.

The machine has two sets of fans – the indoor and outdoor ones. The indoor fan is connected with the evaporator that keeps the air cool and gets them ready to be distributed into the room.

The outdoor fan does the circulating of the air from the condenser to cool off the room. There is need to inspect these parts regularly for breaks and damages. Both accumulate dust and other minute debris that sticks to them, diminishing their working power.

Filters

The inner components of the AC are being guarded by the filters to screen particles that undermine their efficiency to work. The simple maintenance they need is cleaning them with water. This will remove the dust particles that had collected on the filter panels.

The condenser works by transforming the gas into liquid governing the cooling of the room. When this is inspected regularly, the maintenance helps maintain the coolness as the gas moves into the liquid state every time the unit is in operation.

Finally, there is need to check on the control buttons, the whole body of the unit, the configurations, the thermostats and the other parts that accumulate dust and debris and there is build up. Maintenance is main thing in A/C repair.
